OUR WORK

NALC_Food_Drive.bmpFood_Drive.JPGEach year United Way of the Laurel Highlands partners with Branch 451 of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) to help with their annual "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive.  In 2010 53,800 pounds of food was donated, collected, packaged, and distributed to food pantries in our area. These pantries, in turn, help those in need in their individual communities. Thank you to all those who donated food items or donated their time to help sort and package the food. The NALC and United Way of the Laurel Highlands appreciates the many volunteers who took part in this food drive to make it so successfull! A special thank you to our volunteers from the Johnstown/Somerset Labor Council who help each year! 2011 Food Drive set for May 14th.
