The United Way of the Laurel Highlands presented Brian Knepper, of Johnstown, with the keys to a brand new 2016 Ford Focus. The presentation took place on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the showroom of Laurel Ford Lincoln, located in Windber, PA.
Brian Knepper, an employee of Laurel, Chrysler, Jeep, Hyundai, enrolled during the Laurel Auto Group’s Annual United Way Employee Campaign Drive held in November of 2016. Knepper has been contributing to the United Way of the Laurel Highlands at the Car Drawing Level of $180 per year for the past 4 years. Laurel Auto Group is one of several companies who have a 100% participation rate during their annual employee campaign drive in support of the mission of the United Way, and their social change initiatives.
For over 15 years the United Way has been utilizing the Car Giveaway to incent individuals to contribute $180, or more, during the United Way Campaign. Nearly 700 individuals were eligible for the drawing which is made possible by the following sponsors: AmeriServ Financial, Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber, Conemaugh Health System, E.MAP, Harrigan’s Café & Wine Deck, Laurel Auto Group, and Somerset Hospital.
The fundraising proceeds are used throughout Cambria and Somerset Counties to expand high quality programming and services that support initiatives in Early Childhood Development, Parental Engagement, Youth Drug & Alcohol Prevention, and Basic Human Needs.
The United Way of the Laurel Highlands is an independent, volunteer driven, community leading organization, responsible for creating, expanding, and accelerating positive social change in Cambria and Somerset Counties. Their main social change initiatives are; preparing all children socially, emotionally, and academically for kindergarten; increasing parental knowledge of child development and care, and; preventing substance abuse among our youth.
