2018 United Way Labor Banquet
On Thursday, November 1, 2018, Organized Labor has another opportunity to support the United Way of the Laurel Highlands at the 49th United Way/Labor Banquet at the ACES, 316 Chestnut Street, Johnstown. This event is Labor’s public endorsement of the United Way’s local campaign.
For over 60 years, Organized Labor and the United Way have maintained an effective partnership benefiting our entire community. By supporting our local United Way, we help ensure the availability of many services to our members and their families, and to the entire community at large. Additionally, our local United Way is taking the lead in creating long-term social change, especially with our youth, by supporting the Botvin LifeSkills program in all 24 school districts in Cambria and Somerset counties. This #1, nationally rated evidence-based program, fosters youth development by teaching personal coping skills, general social skills, and skills for resisting pressures to smoke, drink, use drugs, and engage in other risky behaviors.
We will begin with a social time from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm with dinner and program to follow.
