United Way, CamTran invite you to 'Stuff the Bus' to support Diaper Bank

By UNITED WAY OF THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS

A local nonprofit is hoping to keep the wheels moving on a newly created diaper bank, and it has partnered with CamTran to help.

The United Way of the Laurel Highlands, CamTran and Giant Eagle will hold a special Stuff the Bus event from noon to 6 p.m. June 10, at the Giant Eagle, located at 1451 Scalp Avenue in Johnstown.

Community members are invited to stop by to donate packages of diapers and to help stuff the bus.

The United Way is distributing diapers at locations from southern Somerset County to northern Cambria County. Organizers are seeing increased demand, so diaper drives are crucial to balance supply and demand, United Way Community Relationship and Marketing Manager Rick Kazmer said.

So far, the United Way has given away more than 5,900 diapers.

"We hope we see a great turnout and truly stuff the bus with diapers of all sizes to help families in the Laurel Highlands," he said.

Wipes are also being accepted.

Email Kazmer at rick@uwlaurel.org with questions. Monetary donations will be used to buy diapers in size of greatest need.
